Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
A Special Interest Group (SIG) (Wikipedia) is a set of members who gather to pursue a common interest. Some SIGs are well organized. Others identify and contribute to a topic, such as "Restaurant reviews". Interests at the RMA range from tracking developments in technology and wellness to discussing books and sharing restaurant experiences and tips on upcoming events in the community.
To exchange ideas and findings, RMA members publish them to a forum (Wikipedia), meet in person and through video conferences, and of course exchange emails. A forum is especially effective because the findings can be read by the members and in some cases the general public and send subscribers notice of updates. Content in a forum remains available for future reference.
