Elise Hillman Green and Jacqueline Wetenhall
“Historic Properties of Greenwich: Protecting Houses, One by One.”
In this America 250/Greenwich presentation Elise Green and Jackie Wetenhall of Historic Properties of Greenwich will share a brief history of how HPG was founded and what it is doing to help protect historic homes and streetscapes around Greenwich. They will provide illustrations of protected houses, the process, and a sneak peek at those in the pipeline.
Elise grew up in town in an historic home on Taconic Road. In 2018, she co-founded Historic Properties of Greenwich. She has served on the boards of the Greenwich Land Trust, the Greenwich Teen Center at Arch Street, the Greenwich Academy Alumnae Board (President) and the Junior League of Greenwich (President). She has been active with Christ Church of Greenwich, the Greenwich Preservation Trust, the Audubon Center and Greenwich Country Day School. Prior to moving back to Greenwich, Elise was a residential real estate agent in Manhattan. Elise is married to Greg Green and they have four children.
Jackie is the newly appointed Executive Director of HPG. As a Greenwich native, she works to increase HPG’s exposure and meets with property owners, real estate firms and neighborhood associations, to educate historic homeowners on the “protect to preserve” process. Prior to joining HPG, Jackie worked for 21 years as the Director of Business Development for Stamford Downtown. She is actively involved in many community organizations including Christ Church Altar Guild, The Knollwood Garden Club and The Avon Theatre Advisory Board.
Our next presentation, on September 30, is by Julia Chafkin, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Psychology, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, “How Sleep Affects Us -And Seniors in Particular.”
The Greenwich Retired Men’s Association offers a free program every Wednesday that is open to the public, both men and women; no reservations are required. Our social break starts at 10:40 am followed promptly by our presentation at 11:00. For additional information, including parking, see
