Mike Moran
“The Palace Theatre: A Century of Stories”
Michael Moran, who will appear as part of the RMA’s America 250/Greenwich series of events, has been part of the arts and entertainment landscape in Stamford for over 35 years. Mike just reached his 25th anniversary with the non-profit Stamford Center for the Arts-Palace Theatre and currently serves as its President and CEO. Prior to that he was Director of Operations with Trans-Lux/Crown Theatres for 13 years. He will talk about the SCA’s history and its upcoming season.
Michael brings a unique perspective to the business having started as box office manager and since been promoted through the ranks. He credits his success and longevity to the leadership, guidance and commitment from the SCA Board of Directors and the efforts of a capable and professional staff.
Mike believes that performing arts centers can make good communities great communities. The Palace serves as an amazing venue committed to presenting world class entertainment like Trevor Noah, Air Supply, Wild Kratts and Jon Stewart. It is the performance home to the nonprofit cultural institutions Connecticut Ballet and Orchestra Lumos. The Palace also takes great pride in offering several arts education programs that reach nearly 8,000 children and adults annually. Mike believes collaboration is critical to maintain success across these multiple unique initiatives.
In addition, Mike serves as president of the Consortium of Eastern Regional Theatres, is a member of the International Entertainment Buyers Association, is a commissioner on the City of Stamford’s Arts and Culture Commission and serves on the Downtown Stamford Special Services board.
