Join this free special event this Sunday, April 12, at Putnam Cottage/Knapp’s Tavern, honoring George Washington’s 1776 visit—exactly 250 years later to the day. This is an America 250–approved event.

Witness the procession of George Washington and his entourage arriving on horseback, followed by a proclamation, flag raising, and opportunities to meet reenactors. It marks a significant moment during the American Revolution, the birth of our nation, and our town’s role in it.
