“Rooted in Care, Growing with the Community: Greenwich Hospital’s Journey Ahead”

As we navigate a rapidly changing healthcare landscape, Greenwich Hospital is embracing a bold path forward. The new president of Greenwich Hospital will share how he plans to strengthen its foundation and build the future our community deserves. Topics to be discussed include market differentiation of clinical services, quality of care delivered, and the experience our community deserves both in the inpatient and outpatient arenas.

Robert Blenderman was named president of Greenwich Hospital and executive vice president of Yale New Haven Health (YNHHS) in March, 2025. He joins the hospital from White Plains Hospital, where as senior vice president he led initiatives to improve inpatient capacity resulting in growth as well as successful expansion of its ambulatory and campus, footprint. Prior to White Plains, he served as chief operating officer of New York Presbyterian Queens and later, chief operating officer of New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist. In those roles, he increased volume through restructuring of service lines, improved physician and staff engagement and reduced turnover. He also opened new multi-specialty practices and increased hospital critical care beds to meet the needs of increased complexity of cases for medicine, surgery, neuroscience and cardiac care.

After earning his Bachelor of Science at St. John’s University, Blenderman earned a Physician Assistant’s degree at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical and finally an MBA at Hofstra University. He was a practicing physician assistant for more than seven years in critical care and cardiac surgery before transitioning into administrative roles with Northwell Health where he spent nine years overseeing Neuroscience and later Cardiovascular and Thoracic services.

Our next presentation, on December 17, will be by Bill Harvey, Executive Director of the Human Effectiveness Institute, on “The Theory of Everything.”

The Greenwich Retired Men’s Association offers a free program every Wednesday that is open to the public, both men and women; no reservations are required. Our social break starts at 10:40 am followed promptly by our presentation at 11:00. For additional information, including parking, see
