RMA’s website introduces you to our organization and provides information we hope you find useful as a member, prospective member or as just an interested individual.
The RMA was founded in 1954 as a community service organization, encouraging Fellowship, Service and Volunteerism among men who, after their careers, wanted to stay active and involved with other men in a similar stage of life. Today, nearly 250 men from our area are members. They band together to enjoy the fellowship of others at our weekly meetings and in several sports, to visit local attractions and to enjoy special lunches, dinners and picnics together. Each week RMA members collectively volunteer between 400 and 600 hours of service to many community organizations.
Part of RMA’s community service involves a free lecture open to the public, men and women, every Wednesday morning. After a 40 minute business meeting for members and a free coffee break for everyone, the public program begins at 11 AM. Speakers include civic and government leaders, authorities on the arts, literature, law, environment, science, entertainment, and history. If you look at the SPEAKERS pages on this website and the many SPEAKER VIDEOS showing each program, you can see that we value presenting a wide range of topics to suit our members’ diverse interests.
If you are not a current member, we urge you to investigate the many ways membership in the RMA can enrich your life, and contribute to our community. For further information, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or stop in at our Wednesday meeting at the First Presbyterian Church, 1 West Putnam Avenue (entrance on Lafayette Place), Greenwich.
